Elizabeth and Oscar’s story began long before either of them realized it.

In August of 2016, Elizabeth spotted Oscar from across their high school gym. She whispered to her friend that she thought he was cute, only to be met with a laugh and a warning: he was too popular, the kind of guy who would never even notice her. Elizabeth shrugged it off, agreed, and moved on with her life—never imagining fate was quietly taking notes.

Exactly one year later, on the first day of Elizabeth’s sophomore year and Oscar’s junior year, the universe recreated the moment. Once again, they stood in the same gym—but this time, Oscar noticed Elizabeth. He turned to his friend and made a bold bet that he could get her number. His friend laughed and told him there was no way—that Elizabeth was out of his league.

The very next evening, August 16th, 2017, Elizabeth was upstairs doing her homework when her phone buzzed with an Instagram notification. Oscar had sent her a direct message.

Elizabeth couldn’t believe it. She ran downstairs to tell her mom, excitement spilling over as she shared the message. Her mom, Tanya, was just as thrilled—but Elizabeth couldn’t forget what her friend had said a year earlier. Oscar was the popular guy, and so many of her friends had their eyes on him. She was scared.

That’s when Tanya gently reminded her that everyone deserves a fair chance. She told Elizabeth that Oscar could be her future husband—but she would never know unless she gave it a whirl.

So, with a hesitant heart and a leap of faith, Elizabeth decided to let Oscar in and give it her all.

Just six days later, on August 22nd, 2017, Oscar made it official.

That single brave decision became the best thing Elizabeth—and Oscar—could have ever done.

The rest is history.

If you are unable to attend, we would appreciate it if you let us know at the soonest opportunity. Any RSVP’s received after this date will be marked as a “no” as we will be sending final headcounts to vendors after this deadline – you will be missed!

Who is invited? Can I bring a plus one?

Our wedding will be an intimate affair allowing us to enjoy it with our closest family and friends. If your name is on the invite, you are invited! However, at this time we are not extending plus ones due to certain limitations. If your partner is invited, their name will be included explicitly on your invitation.

Can we bring our kids?

The wedding is an adults-only event except for select kids. If your children are not listed on your invitation, please make prior arrangements for them and enjoy a date night with us!

What if I am late to the ceremony?

The ceremony will start promptly at 3:30 p.m. We recommend that guests arrive between 3:00-3:20 p.m. so there is time to mingle and find your seat. If you are late, please do NOT walk down the aisle, but instead walk on the outside of the chairs and find a seat.

Which side do I sit on?

We are all family now, no need to pick a side just a seat.

Can I take pictures throughout the ceremony?

To ensure we are all fully present, we will be holding an “unplugged” ceremony. We request that you please turn off/silence all phones during the ceremony. We have hired an amazing photographer team to capture this special moment, and we would be happy to send you any pictures upon request! During cocktail hour and reception, please feel free to take as many pictures as you would like and make sure to share with us too!
